Vibrant Williamsburg Inn Summer Wedding

newlywed couple smiling at each other holding white and green bouquet

One year ago, Tyler and Kate said “I do” at Williamsburg’s beautiful and historic Bruton Parish Church. They followed it up with a lively reception at The Williamsburg Inn. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and we had a grand time designing the classic white and green florals for this beautiful couple.

A Love Story Starting in Williamsburg

Kate and Tyler met in choir while they were attending the College of William & Mary. It only made sense to celebrate their wedding in the city where it all began for them. Bruton Parish Church, with its historic architecture and lush greenery, made for the perfect ceremony backdrop. While the Williamsburg Inn provided for a simply elegant reception.

Vibrant Greenery

The fresh green and white floral arrangements designed for Tyler and Kate created a cheerful, yet also classy summer vibe. We incorporated greenery such as green amaranthus, lily grass and sword fern, with elegant white flowers including white hydrangeas, ivory garden rose and Queen Anne’s lace. The effect was a stunning pop of green, and we’re thankful Luke & Ashley Photography captured the arrangements in true color. Sometimes photographers filter their photos in certain styles that mute these tones, but Luke and Ashley’s timeless style captured the colors perfectly!

Something Old

For Kate’s “something old,” we wrapped a sleeve from her mother’s wedding dress around her bridal bouquet. This is one of our favorite ways to honor the special women in the bride’s life, and Kate’s mom’s lace sleeve matched her daughter’s wedding dress beautifully.

A Moving Reception

Because Kate and Tyler had a moving reception, where guests filled their plates at food stations and mingled freely among the tables, we had to plan the centerpieces a bit differently. Without place settings on the tables, the centerpiece truly took center stage. To achieve this, we designed two centerpiece styles: one a full low compote design, and the other a candle-centric style.

Happy one year, Kate and Tyler! It was an honor to be a part of your stunning Williamsburg wedding. We wish you nothing but happiness on your anniversary!
