Floral Design for Your Ford’s Colony Wedding
Ford’s Colony is an expansive country club with ample opportunities for floral design. If your ceremony is in the dining room, the mantle of the grand fireplace is a great space for florals. We also recommend placing two large floral arrangements on either side of the bride and groom, or on either side of the aisle where the seating begins. Those arrangements can then be repurposed and used at the entrance of the pavilion for the reception. You can also use this same concept if you are having your ceremony at the outdoor site.
The Garden Pavilion, where many people hold their reception, is a great opportunity for utilizing a variety of high and low arrangements. Strategic placement of these high and low arrangements helps draw your guests’ eyes back to the center of the room, where the head table and dance floor are located.
The pavilion is also a great environment for tall arrangements, or even potted plants. Placing these taller florals around the tent poles helps give the area a more natural feel.

Ford’s Colony’s gorgeous outdoor spaces can make for a picturesque wedding ceremony. However, when you plan to have any part of your wedding outdoors, you need to have a rainy day plan. Fortunately, Ford’s Colony has a dreamy back up plan in the event of rain.
With windows on three sides and a beautiful marble fireplace as a backdrop, the dining room is a gorgeous space that can serve as your rainy day plan at Ford’s Colony. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow for tons of natural light, which photographs beautifully. Moreover, the room is spacious enough to accommodate fairly large weddings. If you check out the dining room for your rainy day plan, be careful—you might end up loving it so much, you’ll want to have the ceremony there regardless of the weather!
Additional Tidbits About the Venue
- Because there are public spaces at the venue, it’s a good idea to have a welcome sign that helps your guests find your ceremony site.
- Candles are allowed, but they must be contained within glass and they cannot be tapers.
- There is a Marriott hotel on location. This is a great option for your out of town guests.
