Coastal Kingsmill Resort Wedding

bride and groom kissing on the pier at Kingsmill Resort

This week, Devon and John celebrate their wedding anniversary. They are such genuine, loving people! Their wedding at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia was a beautiful representation of their thoughtfulness as a couple.

An Elegant Waterside Wedding

Having grown up in Williamsburg, Devon knew she wanted to tie the knot in her hometown. She envisioned getting married by the water, so Kingsmill Resort fit the bill perfectly. To complement her elegant waterside wedding, Devon chose florals that were equally classy: ivory and navy, with hints of blush and lots of lush greenery. Arrangements featuring champagne roses, white hydrangeas, eucalyptus, and the eye-catching navy-centered anemones pulled everything together.

For the ceremony, we styled a wooden arbor with loose vines and 25 open ivory roses. We also fashioned a loose carpet of ivory rose petals for the center aisle. With the backdrop of vibrant green trees and the water just beyond, the outdoor ceremony was absolutely breathtaking.

Kingsmill’s James River Ballroom hosts the elegant reception. The couple chose blush tinted draping, giving the space a romantic, whimsical feel. Elevated floral centerpieces on thin glasses vases in addition to low full arrangements of hydrangea and roses in gold compote vases grace the guest tables. Upon the bridesmaids arrival, their bouquets adorn the head table in gold vases, complemented by gold chiavari chairs.

Thoughtful Touches from the Kindest Couple

One of the things that stands out most about this wedding experience is how truly kind and wonderful Devon and John are. It was their wedding day, but they put forth much effort to make everyone—from their guests to their vendors—feel loved and appreciated. That is something special! Devon took incredible care of her bridal party, going above and beyond by renting couches and chairs for the bridal suite so everyone would be comfortable as they got ready. She also had personalized gifts made for each of her parents and grandparents, which was such a thoughtful touch.

Thank you Devon and John for inviting us to be a part of your stunning wedding! We hope you are having a blast celebrating an amazing two years as a married couple!
