Caroline and Mark tied the knot on June 23, 2018, at Two Rivers Country Club in Williamsburg, VA. Their gorgeous river wedding was full of southern charm and featured classic round garden floral design. If you’re planning a summer wedding with a classic country club aesthetic, you might find some inspiration from this gorgeous river wedding!

River Wedding Boasts Abundant Florals

While it’s certainly on-trend to make heavy use of greenery in your floral design, Caroline and Mark’s wedding is evidence that you don’t have to use a ton of greenery to achieve a beautiful aesthetic. Their florals focused mainly on blooms in shades of blush, pink and white. We then used deep, vibrant greenery as the contrast. For example, the high arrangements pictured in the ballroom featured a 25% to 75% greenery to flower ratio.

Dual Ceremony Arrangements

Caroline and Mark’s river wedding began with an elegant ceremony at Williamsburg United Methodist Church. You may notice that there are two arrangements at the front of the church—one on either side of the altar. The two arrangements frame the couple, whereas often one arrangement at the ceremony ends up blocked by the officiant. When designing ceremony arrangements, it’s important to consider how the florals will best fit into the space.

High and Low Centerpieces Create Design Interest

Caroline and Mark’s florals were designed in a traditional round garden style, which perfectly suited their classic country club wedding. Their reception in the ballroom of Two Rivers Country Club featured both high and low centerpieces. Designing centerpieces of varying heights creates depth and helps bring a reception space to life.
