It was a beautiful fall day two years ago when Lindsay and John said “I do” in Williamsburg. They had a romantic ceremony at St. Bede Catholic Church, followed by an elegant reception at Kingsmill Resort. Lindsay was a big fan of the Kate Middleton bridal bouquet, so we styled her bouquet to resemble the princess’s famous arrangement.
A Bouquet Fit for a Princess
Princess Kate’s bouquet was composed mostly of Lilly of the Valley—a flower that is quite scarce in September. It’s also on the pricey side. To replicate the look of the Kate Middleton bouquet, we substituted white freesia and lisianthus flowers. We were able to mimic the look for a fraction of the cost, with flowers that were in season. In memory of her grandfather, Lindsay attached his class ring to the bouquet as her “something old.” Lindsay’s bouquet is a great example of how florists can help brides choose flowers to achieve the look they want without the high price tag.
Centerpieces for a Social Reception
Lindsay wanted her guests to be able to talk easily during the reception, so we went with low-style centerpieces. We styled two different centerpieces—one a lush arrangement displayed in a gold mercury glass compote, and the other a collection of stemmed floating candle vases nestled in a bed of greenery and blooms.
Lindsay and John’s wedding was such a classy and beautiful event, and we loved helping bring it together. Wishing them a happy two-year anniversary!
